It is meant as a guide to the main additional requirements for work in the UK given by its diving regulations in comparison to the IMCA code.

Member Directory Diving contractor applications Full IMCA diving contractor membership is available for offshore diving contractor companies. Applicants for diving contractor membership need to demonstrate their ability to operate in accordance with IMCA international code of practice for offshore diving IMCA D , which can be purchased through our publications department.
Further information can be found in our membership application procedure, which can be downloaded as an attachment. All submissions that are received are handled on a first come first serve basis. At this time, we are unable to give an accurate timeline on how long an audit process might take.

Criteria Please see the following criteria for admission as a diving contractor: Demonstrate the ability to undertake offshore diving activities in accordance with the IMCA International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving IMCA D and associated documentation which describes global good practice for offshore diving. Advice over common pitfalls Below is a list of advice from one of our Diving Technical Advisers, regarding the most common pitfalls in a submission for IMCA Diving Contractor membership: We request all documents to be submitted to us in English.
In the membership audit assessment procedure, we have provided Table 1 — Documentation to be submitted by the applicant diving company. Any omissions could cause delays in the assessment process, with requests for extra documents. Throughout Table 1 — Documentation to be submitted by the applicant diving company, we request CVs; please make sure that you include copies of relevant certificate to go with the requested CVs, as these often get omitted. In Section 3, we request a number of documents from item 3.
This is a similar requirement for item 3. In Section 4, item 4. Certificates must be included alongside CVs. In section 5, IMCA need to see that your company has sufficient plant and equipment to operate an offshore diving job and that it is properly maintained.
This audit must include any non-conformances and how they have been tracked, and closed out. Any further questions on Diving Contractor membership, and any information required on upgrading your current Diving Contractor membership, should be directed to membership imca-int.
